Frequently Asked Questions
Is my data sent to the cloud?
No. All your data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server. The app works fully offline.
How does the 183-day tax residency rule work?
Most countries consider you a tax resident if you spend 183 days or more in a calendar year. The app tracks your days in each country and alerts you as you approach this threshold. Note: tax rules vary by country -- consult a tax professional for your specific situation.
How does the Schengen 90/180 calculator work?
Non-EU citizens can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day rolling window in the Schengen Area. The app calculates this automatically based on your trips, showing how many days you have remaining and when you can re-enter.
Does GPS tracking drain my battery?
The app uses low-power location detection and only checks at the frequency you set (hourly or daily). GPS tracking is completely optional and disabled by default. You can always add trips manually.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export all your trip data as CSV (great for spreadsheets and tax advisors) or ICS files (for calendar import). You can also sync trips directly to your device calendar.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings in the app and use the "Clear All Data" option. You can also delete individual trips. Uninstalling the app removes all data from your device.
Is this legal or tax advice?
No. Global Residency Days is an informational tool that helps you track travel days and calculate thresholds. It does not constitute legal or tax advice. Always consult a qualified professional for your specific tax and visa situation.
Do I need to create an account?
No. The app requires no account, no login, and no registration. Just download and start tracking.
